Reflections on Praise

by Kathryn Coyle

I’ve been singing since I was ten years old. I love to sing, with my whole heart. It makes me show my real side and lets me express how I feel. I love God and made the decision to follow him for the rest of my life. I am human, however, and at times I slip away from Him, let other stuff get in the way, and stop caring. Jehovah Shalom is special to me. It’s not just your everyday choir, it’s true and real and fun. We are all good friends and come together to praise God through the talents He has given us to use. There have been good laughs, some tears, and we’ve all grown closer. There’s another reason why I love Jehovah Shalom so much. I think we all have to find our own way of worship, God says let the worship come from your heart. I love to worship God through music, whether its singing or playing the bass guitar. Jehovah Shalom allows me to express myself and praise God through music and drama. When I sing, I feel really connected to Him, and when I sing to God, nothing else matters, because it’s just me and Him. I like the songs that make you think. The words are deep and really discuss how amazing our God really is. Living on this earth, we can sometimes forget how powerful and amazing He is. When I joined Jehovah Shalom, I finally found a way to deeply connect to God and tell Him how much He means to me. God supplied us with this wonderful group of talented people and I am so thankful, He has opened so many doors for us. Choir is fun, challenging, exciting, and most importantly it gives us a chance to tell the world who God is and what He is all about. In a world with so much hatred and violence, we are called to use our voices to spread the message of love, peace, and joy. Let the whole world, be filled with His glory, forever and ever Amen.
